Beach Volley Ball on... a mountain

Everything is possible in Barcelona, even a beach volleyball match without a beach, at least, without a natural one.
From 8th – 13th September the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc (la Font Màgica de Montjuïc) will be home, for the second year running, to the women’s stop of the Swatch FIVB Beach Volley World Tour’09.
The event will take place in front of the Museu Nacional d`Art de Catalunya (MNAC), where an artifical beach, a stadium for 3,500 spectators, and additional playing courts will be set up.
So, if you want a beach environment and iconic medieval buildings, all in the same place, this event is for you.
And it is free.

Taste Barcelona

This week you can enjoy a gastronomic feast right here in the city. Barcelona Degusta is the first food and beverage exhibition in Spain created entirely for the consumer. This is a food fair for all you foodies who want to know "all about eating".
From March 6 to 9, at La Fira Montjuic, you can find the most complete exhibits of top-end foodstuffs and kitchen equipment, as well as extensive food-related cultural offerings: publications, tastings, master classes, discussions, workshops, etc.
The organizers of this event have a lot of experience in these matters; they also organize "Alimentaria", a bi-annual fair especializing in food, but aimed at profesionals. With Barcelona Degusta, they bring the pleasure of gastronomy in all its various expressions to everyone.
So, why don't you "cook up" a quick culinary escapade to Barcelona and its delicious fair? The airlines are making it easy and Hotel Principal is always prepared to give you a great welcome.
Bon profit!
